This is a question that comes up regularly, and to which he has already answered many times: no, Yvan Attal does not share any blood ties with Gabriel Attal. But since the former government spokesperson and former Minister of the Budget and National Education was promoted to the youngest Prime Minister of the Fifth Republic, the question is inevitably back… Guest of Quelle Époque this Saturday January 20 to promote his new film A roll of the dice, in which he shares the bill with Guillaume Canet and Maïwenn, Yvan Attal has once again denied any familiarity with the 34-year-old politician. However, if the actor has never met the Prime Minister, it turns out that the world is small, since he very well known his father, Yves Attal, died in November 2015 at the age of 66.
The fact that Yvan Attal and Yves Attal is not necessarily surprising, since after having been a lawyer for many years, Gabriel Attal’s father decided to change his life by becoming a film producer. He notably produced the very famous movie High heels by Pedro Almodovar, worn by Victoria AbrilThen Already deada film by Olivier Dahan starring Romain Duris, Benoît Magimel and Zoé Félix. He also produced Russell Crowe and Bridget Fonda in Miss Shunway casts a spell in the United States, and Roberto Benigni in The monster in Italy.
Apolline de Malherbe is the cousin of Gabriel Attal
If Yvan Attal shares no family ties with Gabriel Attal’s family, the journalist Apolline de Malherbe, she surprised everyone by revealing that she discovered via her family tree that the Attal family and her family had the same blood! But we have to go back to the time of Napoleon to find common ancestors: “I discovered, I did not know, that under Napoleon, we were cousins, indeed. We have a common ancestor in 1811with Gabriel Attal (…) There are genealogists who found it amusing to trace the son.”
Yvan Attal therefore has no family ties with the Prime Minister @GabrielAttalreminds us this evening of the director who also and above all comes to discuss his film “Un coup de dice” #QuelleEpoque@FranceTV@LeaSalamepic.twitter.com/Ya4FAcxLcm

Distant cousin of the founder of Galeries Lafayette
Gabriel Attal has no family ties with any known personality. Born Gabriel Nissim Attal in 1989 in Clamart, he is the son of the filmmaker, journalist and lawyer Yves Attal, died of explosive cancer in 2015 at the age of 66, and Marie de Couriss, employee of a production company. After his parents’ divorce in 2000, Gabriel Attal chose to add his mother’s surname to his own, and officially became Gabriel Attal de Couriss. The Prime Minister has two younger sisters, and an older half-sister, from the first marriage of his father Yves Attal. He also has an adopted brother, who is actually the son of a first cousin of his motherdied in a road accident in 2016. Gabriel Attal has very distant links with Théophile Bader, co-founder of Galeries Lafayette. Indeed, the latter is a distant cousin of his paternal grandmother Jeanine Weil, who died in 2011 at the age of 91. His paternal grandfather, Claude Attal, died in 1978, was head of the pediatrics department in Paris.
