As the presidential race begins its home stretch, Youtubeur Norman Thavaud has decided to take a close interest in the programs of the twelve men and women who wish to access the highest office of the State! On March 14, the 34-year-old comedian indeed dedicated an entire video to what he considers to be “the most explosive campaign in the history of France”.
” The more I watch the different campaigns, the more I tell myself that in fact, it’s reality TV what’s going on. Apart from punchlines, blunders and contradictions in all directions… Well, there is not much”, he said before taking the example of candidate LR Valérie Pécresse.
“In this campaign, apparently, we have the right to do anything. In the primary of Pécresse, in the batch of people who voted for her, for example, she counted deceased people, a dog, […] she announced figures that were not quite accurate,” said Norman Thavaud, referring to the time the candidate claimed 40 million migrants entered Europe in the space of a year. “While it was more like 4 million, she was wrong by 2,000%”, he pointed out.
“Afterwards, we had the right to theater performances”, continued Norman before broadcasting an extract from one of the meetings of the President of the Regional Council of Île-de-France. Finally, Norman Thavaud commented on the following sentence uttered by the candidate: “We have to bring out the Karcher”. “ To create a little buzz, Pécresse tried to use punchlines from former candidates… What’s crazy is that the Karsher brand released a press release saying ‘could we stop associating our brand to kicking strangers out, thank you’”concluded the content creator who certainly did not lack spice during this video.
