Weekend football training and sets, from the ages of six to under 13, are canceled until the start of the January school year, announces the Haute-Garonne district.
“It’s a logical decision, explains its president, Jean-Marc Sentein: Every hour, clubs tell us that they have infected children or who are in contact … “
Impossible to do otherwise. Objective, to leave “normally” in January: “We must make sure to limit the number of cases, including avoiding reuniting the children, it is our responsibility to be able to play again in January. It is in the interest of football in Haute-Garonne.”
And for this, Jean-Marc Sentein calls for the responsibility of club presidents: “We must not organize tournaments, friendlies, futsal, otherwise it is useless! A lot of teams have children who have the Covid, and some do not even know it.”
Obviously impossible to control each club, there will be no sanctions taken, but the president of the district calls for the responsibility, for this decision taken locally.
The department of Gers made the same decision for the weekend of December 11-12. Other districts could follow.
