According to the first elements of the investigation, the young woman had just spent the evening at the cinema with her boyfriend and was returning home alone when the attack occurred. Her neighbours reportedly heard her screaming. The victim, who was hit in the throat, was transferred to the Lapeyronie University Hospital with a life-threatening prognosis “due to a bleeding wound 15 centimetres long”, also indicates the Montpellier prosecutor’s office, while specifying that “his life is no longer in danger”.
When questioned, the young woman was reportedly unable to describe her attacker. An investigation has been opened for attempted murder. The perpetrator, who quickly fled, is being actively sought by the police.
