The first World Youth Climate Day is five years old. Environmental activist Greta Thunberg, whose commitment inspired the Fridays for Future movement born on March 15, 2019, ruled on Monday March 11 that the youth mobilized for the climate had been forced to “growing up too fast” to combat damage caused by man. “There are a lot of young people who grew up with the ecological movement and we grew up much too quickly to take responsibility and clean up after the older generation”she said during an action in Stockholm, adding that she and her comrades felt like “a broken record”.

Accompanied by around ten activists, the activist symbolically blocked the entrance to the Swedish Parliament, sitting in front of it and brandishing a banner on which appeared their classic slogan: “Climate Justice Now” ). “The Swedish government, along with every other government in the world, is not treating the climate crisis as a crisis”said Greta Thunberg. “They continue to let short-term economic profits take precedence over people’s lives and the planet.”
