What happened in France on Friday September 23? The point in pictures, in the edition of 20 Hours.

From Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) to Paris, hundreds of high school students demonstrated in France on Friday September 23 to defend the climate. Their movement, Fridays for Future, was started by Greta Thunberg in 2018.”After a summer that we lived to the rhythm of climatic disasters, (…) we couldn’t go back to school as if nothing had happened”explains Pablo Flye, spokesperson for Fridays for Future France.

In Montpellier (Hérault), as in the whole country, the eighth wave of Covid-19 is there and the requests for tests are flowing. In a pharmacy, 20 people are tested every day, twice as many as the previous month. More than a million tests have been carried out in France in just one week. On the heights of Piton de la Fournaise (Reunion), the spectacle is incandescent. The volcano erupted on Monday, and lava fountains sometimes reach 30m high.
