Liberal leader Dominique Anglade attacked Prime Minister François Legault and his party at the opening of the Young Liberals’ Convention on Saturday in Montreal. She was particularly critical of his health and economic record, accusing him of denying the real problems affecting Quebecers.

Mme Anglade began by listing the problems that have made the headlines in recent months: high inflation, growing wait times for a family doctor and in emergencies, violence, and labor shortages. “Meanwhile, what is François Legault doing? Nothing,” she said. “Ah no, he does commercials,” she corrected herself.
The themes of the environment and housing were also in the spotlight in the speech of the leader of the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ), who put forward the “ECO project” and its electoral platform, unveiled in June .
She also unveiled the party’s slogan for the upcoming election campaign: “Vote true. Real issues. Real solutions. The slogan is reminiscent of that of the 2014 elections: “Together, we take care of real business”, which saw former Liberal Prime Minister Philippe Couillard win.
The 40e Young Liberal convention is scheduled to continue all day Saturday. The members of the Youth Commission will vote on eight proposals relating to housing, the environment, and education in particular. Some of these proposals, if adopted, could find their way into the party platform for the October elections.
