Young found dead in a field in Saint-Zotique: his 18-year-old friend victim of a murder in Ontario

A friend of the 16-year-old who was beaten to death and found in a field in Saint-Zotique last week has just been murdered in Ontario.

The body of 18-year-old Zackhry Ramnath was found Sunday morning along a trail near a college campus in King Township, about 30 miles north of Toronto. It was a citizen who alerted the York Regional Police after making the gruesome discovery while walking his dog.

After an autopsy, the victim from Montreal was finally able to be identified today, the Ontario police said in a press release.

Investigators from the Homicide Unit have taken over the investigation. The cause of death has not been disclosed at this time, but Ontario police are talking about a targeted attack on the young man.

The murder comes about a week after the body of 16-year-old Isaiah Leopold Roach was discovered.

According to our information, the two young people who lived in the Pierrefonds sector, in the Quebec metropolis, were friends and had several acquaintances in common. They also share several friends in common on social networks.

Barely of age, Zackhry Ramnath had already had various cases pending before the courts since 2022. Most recently, he faced charges of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and robbery for events that occurred in early February.

York Regional Police also confirmed to Log that she was currently collaborating with the Sûreté du Québec and the Police Department of the City of Montreal. However, she did not want to confirm any link between the two victims.

Toronto investigators have nevertheless confirmed that they “know” Isaiah Leopold Roach.
