Evolving at the Barça Residency Academy, located in the United States on the side of Arizona, the young Carter Payne tragically lost his life last weekend.
The young man lost his life in a car accident, as his club announced later on his Twitter account. “We are devastated by the tragic loss of one of our own, Barca student Carter Payne. Carter was an amazing brother, teammate and athlete who will be greatly missed. We send our love and support to the family and to Carter’s friends during this extremely difficult time”, says the Barça Residency Academy. A very sad story since according to the local American media WTOC, the footballer was hit by a vehicle while riding an electric scooteron the side of Statesboro, a city located in the State of Georgia.
A car accident all the more dramatic as the driver fled following the incident, which would have occurred around 1 a.m. In critical condition, Carter Payne was airlifted to hospital, but his condition was too critical and he did not survive his injuries.
