At the end of March, the doubling of medical deductibles will be applied. Treatment will therefore cost more. You will have to pay one euro for medication and double that to see your doctor.

This will be the rule from the end of March: for each box of medicines, there will be one euro not reimbursed by Social Security. Until now, the patient only paid 50 cents. This measure, alone, should enable Social Security to achieve around 600 million euros in savings per year. “People who consume a lot will not be that impacted”, estimates Laëtitia Bellaiche, pharmacist. The annual ceiling of this franchise remains, in fact, set at 50 euros. Once this amount is exceeded, the patient will still be fully reimbursed.

Minors and pregnant women not affected

In March, the remainder will also double for medical transport, from 2 to 4 euros. In June, it will be medical biology analyzes and consultations which will be less well reimbursed. An excess of 2 euros will be charged for these acts. Doctors fear seeing the most precarious patients forgo care. Furthermore, minors and women are still not affected by these measures.
