After the success of Welcome to the Ch’tisDany Boon returns behind the camera and also finds his accomplice Kad Merad for his new film Life for real. In theaters from April 19, 2023, the feature film promises to be the comedy of this spring with a five-star cast. The story ? It’s that of Tridan Lagache, played by Dany Boon, a man who was born and lived all his life in a Club Med in Mexico. At 50, he decides to leave his cocoon for the first time to find Violette (Charlotte Gainsbourg), his childhood sweetheart, and discover… life for real. In Paris, many obstacles and perils await him, including the unexpected meeting of Louis, his older half-brother (played by Kad Merad) whom he did not know and who will do anything to get rid of him. And this is indeed a mythical reunion between Dany Boon and Kad Merad who share the poster for the fourth time! Which made Kad say, then in the middle of filming in August 2022, in front of the cameras of TF1: “SO ! It’s good, you tried other actors, Now you have to go back to basics. We are having a lot of fun !” Nice surprise from this casting, the rare and noticed presence of Charlotte Gainsbourg, whom we have nevertheless been able to see on other comedies like give me your hand alongside Alain Chabat. How did she get there? She also responded to TF1: “I saw his film, I texted him. I don’t think he gave it to me [proposé] straight away but it came pretty quickly. I was super happy”explains the actress, who confides “been looking for that comedy tone for a long time. These are not things that I am offered easily

“I offered him to sleep at my house… it’s my mistake!”
On the occasion of the release of life for real, Kad Merad and actor-director Dany Boon are currently touring media sets to defend this tasty comedy and prove, once again, their complicity on stage but also outside the spotlight. This Friday, April 14, it was Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine who received the duo on her show It’s up to you on France 5. And these two could not help but make the show by relating in particular some crisp anecdotes on the backstage of filming: the two accomplices lived together! A real little couple with their little habits who teased each other live… “I offered him to sleep at my place, we were shooting in the studio… it’s my mistake, I know” first launches Dany Boon in a tongue-in-cheek tone and continues laughing: “I wrote a book that will be released soon by XO, “Le Trauma”… and Kad Merad to accompany him in this sketch: “I will sleep at your house” he suggests as the name of the work. And the journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi to launch a controversy: “He emptied his wine cellar!” Kad Merad defends himself: “I made himsave the hotel already!” But Dany Boon admits very amused: “Proportionally, I can’t find myself there” and to tell that the actor wanted, every evening, to open a small bottle… “until the end of filming party”: “At 3 a.m., we come home and there he says to me ‘Ah, I could eat a little piece of cheese’, so I take him out and there he says to me ‘We would grill not a little bit of bread’, well I’m defrosting some bread, and there he is with his bread and his cheese and says to me: ‘Ah, that deserves a little bit of red wine’.” Under the laughter of the whole set, Kad defends himself by arguing that he was making dinner… “Dany, he arrives, he does the one who is busy, the director, he releases texts… we rehearsed every evening, that’s the advantage of being together… but so he put a little apron on me, nothing underneath, he didn’t want me to wear panties…why?! I’ll complain…” the comedian lets loose under bursts of laughter continuing his fictitious misadventures: “in addition to a ridiculous thing with two saucepans drawn (at chest level, editor’s note), an ugly thing”, Dany takes him at his word: “but you have very nice buttocks”… and take over the conversation: “on the other hand, he had slippers!”, “Oh no, you are not going to tell everything” asks him, overwhelmed, Kad Merad. Dany Boon persists: “That, I can tell, he comes home, the first day with his suitcase, he had a little bag and, before kissing me!, he opens his little bag and takes out two slippers…” Anne Elisabeth bursts out laughing and launches: “Before even saying hello?”. The actor is annoyed by the anecdote and responds to the director: “No, no, don’t tell the story backwards, whatever you want, just try to be fair! People, they want to know the truth!”. A real little couple…
