It’s the return of the raclette season. It is one of the favorite dishes of the French, so much so that college students are campaigning for it to be offered to them in the canteen. This did not escape Olivia Leray.

A quick question: has anyone ever made their first raclette of the season? Admit that we can’t wait to meet againe 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. in a living room where it’s super hot because there is one who had the good idea to plug the machine in before the potatoes are cooked, can’t wait for everyone to criticize the organization of the on the other side, can’t wait to have a stomach ache and a really bad sleep.
But raclette is still one of the favorite dishes of the French, from a young age. In Moselle, in Ban-Saint-Martin (near Metz), young people said to themselves “why not have some in the canteen?” And it became a real fight.
I just received an email from the college of nano which begins with “this is not a hoax”
it seems that students have formed a collective to demand, with a lot of posters plastered in the establishment, raclette in the canteen pic.twitter.com/9UYTBz1CFC– minisushi (@minisushi) November 26, 2021
Four college girls have squarely set up the RERC collective (which has nothing to do with the Parisian train always blocked late or under construction): the acronym means “Rire Et Raclette Chantant”. This collective therefore has only one objective: to have a raclette-party in the canteen.
For several weeks they put up their posters in the college. And by dint of negotiations, the management said yes! There will therefore be a raclette meal in the canteen, with devices loaned by parents of students or by people who have followed this fight on social networks. The meal will take place on Monday, December 13, the date of World Raclette Day.
