yoga guru arrested on suspicion of rape

Wanted by Interpol, a guru, who lived in Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne), was arrested on Tuesday November 28. Gregorian Bivolaru, a 71-year-old Romanian, is suspected of being the head of an international sect. According to the association which reported the facts to the courts, for decades, under the pretext of teaching yoga, he has sexually abused several young women. “He will choose, select a certain number of women (…) to be initiated by him”explains Hugues Gascan, president of the sectarian phenomenon study group.

At least three complainants

On a specialized Internet page, Gregorian Bivolaru praises pure eroticism to attract his victims. At least three complainants of different nationalities have reportedly been interviewed in a police department since the launch of the investigation. They indicated that they had been sequestered upon their arrival in France. 41 people were arrested in the Paris region and in the Alpes-Maritimes. According to a judicial source, 26 potential victims were found in a deplorable state of hygiene.
