And technically, she who is called to reign over Spain, could constitutionally now succeed her father, King Felipe VI, at the head of the State and the armed forces. Leonor received this Tuesday the highest civilian distinction, the Grand Collar of the Order of Carlos III, as her father had received it before her, for her 18th birthday.
The ceremony took place in front of the two houses of Parliament meeting in extraordinary session, in the presence of his parents, his sister, Infanta Sofia, and the main representatives of the State. It was broadcast on giant screens in the center of Madrid, as well as on Spanish television.
Fortunately, Leonor of Spain still has a few years to benefit from her father, aged 55, and his experience as a sovereign. While waiting to succeed him, she continues her studies. She, who was trained in a private school in Madrid, Colegio Santa María de los Rosales until 2021, then joined an international baccalaureate program in Wales (United Kingdom), from which she graduated in May 2023.
She has to finish her studies
Since August 2023, Sofia’s big sister is now undergoing three-year military training, at the General Military Academy, the Naval Military School and the General Air Academy, in Zaragoza, with a view to one day becoming a chef. armies.
At the same time, she is gaining ground. Every year, she also attends the Princess of Asturias awards ceremony, an event that bears her official title, and which she will now manage on her own.
