(Tokyo) The yen briefly fell on Wednesday to its lowest level against the dollar since 1990, intensifying speculation about possible intervention by the Japanese government, which this week expressed several warnings in this direction.
The Japanese currency fell around 10:41 p.m. EST to 151.97 yen per dollar, a nearly 34-year low, surpassing its previous level of 151.95 yen per dollar reached in October 2022. Around 11:50 p.m. (Eastern time), the Japanese currency rose to 151.72 yen per dollar.
