Yemen: Deadly stampede kills 85 people

It should have been a distribution of money. Eight euros per person donated by local merchants for the end of Ramadan. This gesture of charity turned into a tragedy. A senseless jostling, people trapped in a dense crowd. Consequences : 85 people died. They could no longer move or breathe. The authorities attribute this tragedy to an excess of people in a narrow street. Some witnesses speak of gunshots which would have caused a movement of panic.

A country at war
