Yann Barthès, very discreet about his private life: he explains why

His father was a railway worker, his mother worked in a notary office. A youth with simplicity as its standard, far from the spotlight he sees today.

Moreover, even if Yann Barthès now welcomes the biggest stars in his show Quotidien, which he has presented since 2016 on TMC, the journalist has retained this taste for discretion.

Of him, viewers only know his deadpan humor, which does not hesitate to criticize politicians from all sides, even if it sometimes means suffering setbacks.

On March 27, Yann Barthès and the leaders of TF1 appeared before the commission of inquiry into TNT at the request of the elected representatives of the RN, so that he could explain his decision never to invite the far right on the tray. At his side, faithful, Laurent Bon, nicknamed “the man who whispers in the ear of Yann Barthès”. From their relationship which dates from the beginning of the 2000s, we simply know that they founded together the company Bangumi, producer from Petit Journal on Canal +on which the journalist did his ranges, and Quotidien: “If Yann Barthès became Yann Barthès, it’s thanks to Laurent Bon”already confided one of his collaborators to Telerama in 2016.

Discretion as a deep nature

However, the public will know no more about this open secret. Neither on social networks, nor in the press. The TMC troublemaker makes a point of it, as he revealed in 2019 to our colleagues at TV Magazine : “It’s enough to give our images, our personal data and our entire lives to the GAFA! I talk two hours a day on TV, that’s not bad, right?” he explained, not without a touch of annoyance. Aware of being constantly spied on for the slightest actions and gestures, Yann Barthès thus made the decision to put his private life in a double-locked safe: “Discretion is the most precious thing in the world for me! Especially in this profession, which has absolutely none…” he said before continuing: “I would have liked to be like Daft Punk. It’s the best to be known without being recognized. We don’t realize how lucky they are…” When will we see Yann Barthès with a motorcycle helmet on his head?
