He proudly presents his trophy on the stage of Chato’do in Blois. Still on cloud nine the day after his Victoire de la Musique in the male revelation of the year category. A unique voice, boundless energy and an intense pleasure in living this great adventure, the young Franco-Cameroonian is successfully paving his way.
From rap to jazz to the piano, Yamê, 30, is a jack of all trades. Son of a Cameroonian musician, he became known thanks to his rap on social networks. He now makes his sharp and unique voice heard, in a different register. “I had arrived at the end of a certain cycle. And in this new cycle, I sing and I put my voice forward”he explains.

Full halls, upcoming concerts in Paris, in the regions and already announced in major festivals such as April 26 at the Printemps de Bourges and this summer at the Vieilles Charrues and the Francofolies in La Rochelle, everything seems to be smiling on the musician, who has been foaming Parisian jazz clubs playing the piano before starting to rap and sing. A daydream, but a lot of work too. So he takes advantage. “I always need from time to time to find this jazz atmosphere”, he said. “But right now, with everyone around me, sold out concerts… It’s new to me and it’s amazing.”

Revealed on social networks on which they have millions of subscribers, Yamê enjoyed immense success last summer with Bike, climbing into Spotify’s viral Top 50. He was spotted by the American producer Timbaland and the singer Stromae who invited him on five dates last year to open for him. A revelation that already rises to the top, head on shoulders, but dreams in my head.
