About twenty vehicles are said to be involved in a pile-up that took place on Saturday afternoon on Highway 40 East, in Yamachiche, in the Mauricie region.
The emergency services were called to go to the height of kilometer 175 of highway 40 east shortly before 1 p.m., concerning a collision between several cars.
“According to preliminary information, about twenty vehicles are involved,” said Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
Highway 40 eastbound is closed on Saturday afternoon. A detour can be taken from the exit at kilometer 174.
