Since the start of the “XXL net square” operations launched by Emmanuel Macron on March 19, 476 people have been arrested. According to the government, 4,000 deal points are still active in France.

Gérald Darmanin said he wanted to put a stop to drug trafficking on Monday March 25, during a trip to Roubaix (North). The city is the scene of a new “XXL net square” operation, just like Lille (North), Lyon (Rhône), Dijon (Côte-d’Or) and the Paris region. “There have been a thousand deal points deleted for over a year”recalled the Minister of the Interior.

A strong mobilization in Marseille

According to the government, 4,000 deal points would be still hasactive in France. The “XXL net space” operations were launched a few days ago by Emmanuel Macron. The objective set by the executive is 850 arrests to dismantle drug trafficking networks. To date, 476 people have been arrested since the start of operations. Last week, 900 police officers, gendarmes and customs officers were mobilized in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône). In three days, 71 people were taken into custody and 22 kg of drugs were seized in the Marseille city.
