Xavier Dolan unveiled on Instagram a dozen images from the filming of The Night Laurier Gaudreault Woke Uphis long-awaited first series, which will be broadcast on Canal Plus and Club Illico.

” I can not wait ! “wrote the director on his Instagram account, posting images of his next psychological thriller. In The Night when Laurier Gaudreault has woken up, we will find Dolan behind and in front of the camera, since he shares the spotlight with Julie Le Breton. Magalie Lépine-Blondeau, Éric Bruneau and Patrick Hivon. The latter were all from the distribution of the eponymous play by Michel Marc Bouchard, at the TNM in 2019, from which the series is adapted.
The director of Mommy had not filmed for three years (Matthias and Maxime). He decided to bring the piece to the screen immediately after attending a performance of Bouchard’s creation at the TNM. Dolan explains this in a press release issued by Canal Plus. “Beyond the obvious that imposed itself on me, to write and shoot this story about life and death, about mourning, self-acceptance, family, there was between the idea and the realization of the months of waiting caused by the pandemic, and which will have inspired me more than ever, excited, even impatient, to take action, and to push my limits ever further, to explore the genre of thriller…”
No release date has been announced, but the series will probably be available by the end of 2022. “More news will follow soon,” promises the filmmaker.
