The LR president of Hauts-de-France Xavier Bertrand launched his We France movement this Saturday in Saint-Quentin (Aisne), promising “a modern, young and unifying movement” and resolutely opposed to the far right for the 2027 presidential election.
We France will not run after the extremes, never
“I still have the same energy and the same desire to carry my ideas”, launched the former minister, eliminated from the presidential election of 2022 from the stage of the Republican primary. “We France will be a collective force, it is perhaps what I lacked”, he estimated. Xavier Bertrand, whom many already see as a candidate for the next presidential election, assured that“before 2027, we will have to provide solutions to the problems of the French”.
If he remain a member of the Republicanswith Us France he wants “speak to all French people”, especially to the middle classes who will be “a priority”, and “to work outside electoral appointments”. Describing themselves as “a social right-wing man, Gaullist”he promised that “We France will not run after extremes, never” and will say “no to any deadly idea of a union of the right and the extreme right”. Xavier Bertrand thus harshly criticized the RN and the“incompetence” of its leaders: “Imagine them at the head of the country? never!” he assured.
I am ready to commit to support a pension reform if justice is at the rendezvous
He also advocated to fight “for the order” because “if nothing is done by 2027 (…) withdrawal into oneself, even clashes are likely to emerge”. Lowering the criminal majority to 15 years, “Republic of the Territories”, fight for secularism or “ecology of solutions”, the former primary candidate took up his campaign proposals at length, criticizing “Wokist ideology”. “Do we have to have fallen very low to see Sandrine Rousseau play a growing role in the public space” he launched to applause.
And “we are going to talk to those who work, because in France we don’t earn enough when we work”, he added, taking up his idea of “work bonus” covering part of the salary costs. As for pensions “I am ready to commit myself to support a reform if justice is at the rendezvous” and “if those who are damaged by work can leave earlier”he launched, calling on the executive to consult.
