(Paris) The Polish Iga Swiatek consolidated her place as world No.1 by winning the Stuttgart tournament on Sunday, but is now followed by the Spaniard Paula Badosa, who stopped in the semi-finals.

Swiatek seems unbeatable for several weeks: she won her fourth consecutive tournament on German clay, after her victories in Doha, Indian Wells and Miami. She now advances to Roland-Garros (May 22-June 5) with the status of favorite, with 23 wins in a row.
Behind her, Badosa doubled the Czech Barbora Krejcíková, now world No.3, for only two points. Despite her defeat against Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (N.4) 7-6 (7/5), 6-4, Badosa reached her best ranking, more than 2000 points behind Swiatek however.
The top 10 remains unchanged apart from this inversion. Briton Emma Raducanu, who received the Laureus prize for Revelation of the Year on Sunday despite her inconsistency since her title at the United States Open 2021, gains a place (N.11).
Alizé Cornet is still the highest ranked French player (N.34), while Caroline Garcia (N.71) and Clara Burel (N.84) lose two places each.
