Writer Salman Rushdie ‘on the road to recovery’ after stabbing, agent says

The news is reassuring. Writer Salman Rushdie, violently attacked on Friday at the Chautauqua cultural center (United States), is “on the road to recovery”announced Sunday, August 14, his agent Andrew Wylie, quoted by American media.

He is no longer on life support and “the road to recovery has begun”said Wylie in a press release sent in particular to the washington post. “The injuries are serious, but his condition is moving in the right direction”added the agent.

Threatened with death since a “fatwa” from Iran in 1989, a year after the publication of his book satanic versesthe naturalized British American writer was stabbed a dozen times on Friday in New York State (northeastern United States) by a 24-year-old American, Hadi Matar.
