Writer Peter Robinson dies at 72

British-Canadian writer Peter Robinson has died aged 72.

The author who kept his readers spellbound with the adventures of Inspector Banks died in Toronto on Tuesday after a brief illness, his publisher McClelland & Stewart announced today.

Robinson has described the adventures of Inspector Alan Banks in over 25 books which have been translated around the world.

Several of them have been adapted for the screen. The British series DCI Bankswhich aired from 2010 to 2016, was notably inspired by the books.
