Wrestling | Cuban Mijain Lopez wins fifth consecutive title

(Paris) Cuban wrestler Mijain Lopez entered the Olympic Games legend by becoming on Tuesday in Paris, at almost 42 years old, the first athlete to win five consecutive gold medals in the same individual event.

Defeating Chilean Yasmani Acosta (6-0) in the final of the top 130 kg category in Greco-Roman wrestling, he did better than the four consecutive titles won by Americans Carl Lewis (athletics, long jump), Michael Phelps (swimming, 200 m medley), Katie Ledecky (swimming, 800 m freestyle) and Alfred Oerter (athletics, discus), Dane Paul Elvstrom (sailing) and Japanese Kaori Icho (wrestling).

More details to come.
