Who to succeed the Australian Richie Porte? The kick-off of the 74th edition of the Critérium du Dauphiné was given on Sunday June 5 in the Ardèche region. Wout van Aert was the fastest in the sprint in Beauchastel, ahead of two Britons, Ethan Hayter and Sean Quinn. The Belgian is therefore the first wearer of the yellow jersey on this 74th edition of this race, renowned for its preparation for the Tour de France.

Among the 22 teams involved, the Jumbo-Visma, formation of the Belgian champion, considers the Critérium du Dauphiné as the final rehearsal before the Grande Boucle by aligning Primoz Roglic, Jonas Vingegaard, Tiesj Benoot, Christophe Laporte, Steven Kruijswijk and Chris Harper in company by Wout van Aert.
