China has opened the world’s largest indoor ski slope in Shanghai.

In Shanghai, here is a big difference in the weather: outside, the temperature is 30 degrees and the Chinese are wearing light clothing. A few minutes later, there they are in fleece suits and jackets. Welcome to the big cold: it is -7 degrees. It is a ski resort with dozens of cardboard chalets. Gondolas, chairlifts, and a little train to enjoy the scenery: 90,000 square meters of skiable area, it is a record. China discovered skiing with the Olympic Games two years ago, many are beginners and here, everyone has their own technique.

Two billion euros have been invested. The station has 33 snow cannons and a refrigerated area all year round. Is this really reasonable? That is the thorny question. The energy cost remains a closely guarded secret. There are 60 such stations in China, and for one specialist, the race for gigantism is well and truly on.
