(Sydney) Canadian Rachel Homan will face South Korean Eunji Gim in the semi-finals of the World Women’s Curling Championship.
Gim secured a place in the final four by defeating Sweden’s Anna Hasselborg 6-3 on Saturday at Center 200 in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Homan had already earned a bye into the semifinals, as she finished the preliminary round as the top seed, with an 11-1 record. His only defeat came at the hands of Gim, in a match that no longer meant anything to Canada.
Italy’s Stefania Constantini beat Denmark’s Madeleine Dupont 7-4 to complete the quartet that will compete in the semi-finals.
Constantini will cross swords with Switzerland’s Silvana Tirinzoni, reigning tournament champion.
The winning teams from the semifinals will face off in Sunday’s gold medal game. The other two will battle it out for bronze.
