Promoter Yvon Michel announced Wednesday that his March 11 rival, Mexican Yesenia Gomez, will not be able to face the Quebecer. The two pugilists must fight for the belt of the World Boxing Council (WBC) in light flies.

This is the second time that this duel has been postponed. Originally scheduled for December 17 at the Bell Center, the fight was put on ice due to an injury that Clavel (14-0, 2 KOs) had aggravated in training.

Michel, however, clarified that his boxer was still going to step into the ring at the Casino de Montreal on March 11. Clavel will defend her WBC minor title there against an opponent whose identity has not yet been announced.

For the duel against Gomez (19-5-36 K.-O.), the promoter intends to postpone it to May and still wants it to be held in the Quebec metropolis.
