(Schaffhausen) Canadian Brad Gushue defeated Dutchman Wouter Gösgens 7-4 at the World Men’s Curling Championship on Wednesday.
Gushue scored two points in the first end and stole a point in the second to quickly take control of the match, without ever being worried afterward. He added a point in the sixth end, two more in the eighth and a final point in the 10th.e to achieve victory.
By virtue of this victory, Gushue and his Newfoundland quartet composed of Mark Nichols, EJ Harnden and Geoff Walker improved their record to 6-1, thus securing at least second place in the standings at the end of the phase preliminary. The Netherlands is now 2-5.
