Members of the Russian team competing at the World Junior Championship were kicked out of a plane scheduled to leave Calgary on Friday night.
Police confirmed the information to CTV Network in Calgary. No details on why they were pulled from the plane have been released, however.
According to some people on social media, who say they were on the plane at the time, the Russian coach allegedly violated airline rules before take off. The situation would have caused a long delay of the flight, whose destination was Frankfurt, Germany.
Also according to CTV, the Canada Border Services Agency is now in charge of the investigation.
Recall that COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the World Juniors on December 29, when the event had already started for three days.
