(Halifax) After two easy wins, Canada had to fight harder in its third and final preseason game of the world junior championship on Friday, ultimately winning 5-3 over Finland.
The Canadians beat Switzerland 6-0 and Slovakia 6-1 on Monday and Wednesday.
Friday, Connor Bedard scored twice in superiority.
Brennan Othmann, Brandt Clarke and Logan Stankoven were the other Maple Leaf scorers.
Stankoven put the finishing touches in an empty net.
Niko Huuhtanen, Ville Koivunen and Joakim Kemell fought back for Finland, who led 1-0 and 2-1.
Canada outshot 45-22.
The winners converted three out of seven power plays; the Finns were two out of four in this aspect.
Defending champion, Canada will start the tournament in Halifax on Boxing Day against the Czechs.
On the same day, Finland will face the Swiss in Moncton.
