Hockey Canada has announced that Shane Wright will captain Team Canada at the 2023 World Junior Championship, which will take place in Halifax, NS, and Moncton, NB from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.

Ethan Del Mastro, Nathan Gaucher, Logan Stankoven and Dylan Guenther will share alternate captain responsibilities.
Del Mastro, who plays with Mississauga in the OHL, Gaucher, a Quebec Remparts player, and Stankoven, who plays with Kamloops in the WHL, all contributed to the medal. Canada’s gold at the 2022 World Juniors.

Canada announced its 22-man roster Dec. 12 following a four-day, two-game selection camp against an all-star team of college players.
The Canadian troop will open the World Junior Championship against the Czech Republic on December 26, before facing Germany on December 28, Austria on December 29 and Sweden on December 31 to conclude the preliminary round.
All Team Canada games will take place at 6:30 p.m. Quebec time.
Additionally, Canada will face Switzerland on December 19, Slovakia on December 21 and Finland on December 23 as part of its pre-season schedule.
