(Glasgow) Sarah Mitton set a Canadian record and won gold in the shot put at the World Indoor Athletics Championships on Friday.
Mitton’s record throw cleared 20.22 meters, on his fifth attempt.
A 27-year-old Nova Scotian, Mitton secured victory with her fourth throw (20.20), already a national mark.
She is the reigning Commonwealth Games and Pan American Games champion.
Germany’s Yemisi Ogunleye took silver (20.19), while bronze went to Chase Jackson of the United States (19.67).
