World Hockey Championship | Switzerland wins once again by shutout

(Riga) Nino Niederreiter scored as Switzerland prevailed by shutout for a third time in the World Hockey Championship on Tuesday, this time beating the Kazakhs 5-0.




The Winnipeg Jets winger scored the team’s fourth goal early in the third period.

Switzerland have yet to concede a net. The team leads Group B with nine points, one more than Canada.

Thomas Berg-Paulsen scored and Norway beat the Slovenians 1-0, earning a first win of the tournament.

Nikolaj Ehlers, also of the Jets, scored his third goal of the tournament to help Denmark beat the Austrians, 6-2.

The Danes and Sweden are tied for second in Group A with eight points, one less than the Americans.

Istvan Bartalis settled the debate in overtime and Hungary beat France, 3-2.

Canada will play again on Wednesday against Kazakhstan.
