World Cup | Neymar will miss the last game of the group stage

(Doha) Neymar will miss Brazil’s final group stage match at the FIFA World Cup with a right ankle injury, the team doctor said on Tuesday.

Rodrigo Lasmar mentioned that the Brazilian striker will not be able to face Cameroon in Group G on Friday.

Neymar missed Monday’s game against Switzerland, which Brazil won 1-0 and confirmed his promotion to the round of 16 of the tournament.

Neymar, who was injured in Brazil’s opener against Serbia, was the only player who did not come to the 974 stadium to watch the duel against Switzerland. He stayed at the team hotel to undergo treatment.

Lasmar also mentioned that Neymar had a fever on Monday, but clarified that it is “under control” and will not affect his ankle treatment.

Lasmar added that right-sided defender Danilo, who is also nursing an ankle injury, and left-sided defender Alex Sandro, who had to leave Monday’s game with a muscle injury, will not face the Cameroon.
