Short track speed skater Kim Boutin won her first gold of the season on Saturday as she triumphed in the 500 meters at the World Cup in Dordrecht, the Netherlands

Installed ahead for the vast majority of the final, the Quebecer uttered a loud cry of satisfaction as she crossed the distance. It did so in 42.464 seconds.
Italian Arianna Fontana and Russian Elena Seregina completed the podium.
This is a second medal in as many weeks for Boutin at this distance. Six days ago, she won bronze at the World Cup in Debrecen, Hungary.
Earlier today, Canada’s Courtney Sarault collected the silver medal in the 1500m in the Netherlands. The representative of the maple leaf was only beaten by South Korean Lee Yu-bin, who leads the overall World Cup standings at this distance.
