The right is threatening not to vote for the majority’s text on immigration because according to the LR, it carries a risk of “draft”. The Minister of Labor indicated on Tuesday that he “does not share” this argument.
“It would be absolutely terrible if men and women who work daily with an employment contract were the victims of a terrorist climate that does not concern them”, reacted Tuesday October 17 on franceinfo Olivier Dussopt, Minister of Labor, Full Employment and Integration. The text on immigration is at the heart of all discussions, particularly since the terrorist attack in Arras. The main suspect is a young Caucasian of 20 years old illegally in France.

The right continues to oppose the regularization aspect of undocumented workers in professions in shortage and threatens not to vote for the text. The Minister of Labor “don’t share” the arguments of the Republicans who point out a risk of“air call”.
Yaël Braun-Pivet, president of the National Assembly, wants the text to be “voted definitively at the end of the year”. For his part, Olivier Dussopt suggested that the two articles which upset the right could be taken out of the text: “I remain open to all forms, whatever the outcome, whether by legislative means, by regulatory means, I have always said that I remain open to all solutions”he said.
Also securing employers
But the Minister of Labor was keen to point out that the women and men affected by this text are above all workers: “We are talking about people who are in an irregular situation, that is to say who do not have valid papers, but who work legally” In “jobs where everyone has difficulty recruiting”.
According to him, “it is important to secure people who work legally, who we need and who are on our territory. It is also important to secure their employers because often, employers are faced with this situation and they themselves are in legal insecurity”he explained.
