Find money to cover the deficit. After the doubling of medical deductibles on medicines, the new source of savings envisaged concerns waiting days. Currently, in the event of sick leave, employees in the private sector have three days during which they do not receive compensation from Health Insurance. This period could be extended to five, six or seven days. Some companies take care of this deficiency, but will they still do so in the event of a change?
A lack of “public order”
The other option, preferred by employers, is a “public order” waiting day. As for civil servants, this is a day not compensated by Social Security, nor compensated by companies, and therefore not paid for employees. Today, nearly two thirds of employees have no loss of income, thanks to company compensation.
