“Woody Allen never said he was retiring or writing another book. He said he thinks he doesn’t make films because making films that go directly or very quickly to streaming platforms doesn’t suit him, he who is a big fan of the cinematic experience, “reads in a statement.
The statement aims to correct the situation after an interview given to the newspaper La Vanguardia was picked up by the media around the world.
Woody Allen is currently in Paris to film his 50e film, which will be shot entirely in French and which takes place in the City of Light. It wasn’t the first time the director had hinted that this feature might be his last – he notably mentioned it during an interview with actor Alec Baldwin last summer.
