“Tragic and comic stories about heroines, saints, sorceresses, witches and other mortals”: this is the subtitle which accompanies the new program concocted by Christina Pluhar, also responsible for the numerous arrangements. The musician, who has long advocated the abolition of musical boundaries, begins with a traditional Mexican tune, before moving on to Che si può fare by Barbara Strozzi. The tone is, at the beginning, one of alternation between Italy and Mexico and sharp oppositions. It becomes more and more classic and intimate as the program progresses. In addition to the composition of the project, Christina Pluhar’s art is to bring together diverse voices, but whose alternation composes a fascinating mosaic. These are Céline Scheen, Luciana Mancini, Benedetta Mazzucato and Vincenzo Capezzuto, a violist with a disturbing voice, notably in Cecilia’s song (track 5). And there is L’Arpeggiata, this ensemble whose colors, since The Tarantella25 years ago, fascinate us. New success.
