Women’s volleyball: before the departure of its coach, Radoslav Arsov, the VNVB beat Cannes (3-2)

The large public at the Parc des Sports de Vandoeuvre enjoyed themselves this Friday evening, after the performance of the VNVB and RC Cannes. In this bitter duel, the Vandoperiens came out victorious, 3-2, at the end of a very high level match. For their last home game in the league, the Vandoper volleyball players offered the greatest gift to their coach, Radoslav Arsov, who announced his departure at the end of the season:

It’s a great final against the most successful team in French collective sport. After six years, I’m really happy to end like this, there is a cycle and a story that ends for me with the VNVB where I leave many friends. I hope that the VNVB project will continue to develop, especially after the work we have done for six years. I leave with my head held high.

Undoubtedly, the coach’s record is more than satisfactory. Under his watch, the VNVB grew and became more structured. The Vandoper club competed in the European Cup, it stabilized in the elite of French women’s volleyball and slipped to the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France.

The Franco-Bulgarian technician has therefore enabled the VNVB to find the right paths that lead to the top level. His high standards and his desire to achieve perfection on the pitch, with his players, and off it, alongside coaches and managers, have been essential drivers and put at the service of the club, according to the president, Patrick Venturini:

The work that Rado has done will forever be written in the lines of the club. It was he who taught me everything about volleyball, he took me around the clubs to see how they were structured and to draw inspiration from it. Rado put us on the right highway, we have always been in collusion. Now another project awaits us.

With which trainer? Which players? The next few days should not be easy for President Patrick Venturini and his team. In the meantime, the VNVB with Radoslav Arsov can still mark the history of the club, by seeking qualification for the semi-final of the Coupe de France, Monday, March 28, in Béziers.
