Women’s hockey | Montreal beats Boston 3-2 in preparatory match

(Utica) Montreal beat Boston 3-2 on Tuesday in a preparatory match for the Professional Women’s Hockey League (LPHF).


The Montreal team led 3-1 after regulation time, following goals from Ann-Sophie Bettez, Dominika Laskova and Jillian Dempsey.

Megan Keller scored the goal for Boston, which won the shootout 3-1.

The six LPHF teams are in Utica until Thursday, for preparatory games and training.

The final rosters will be determined on December 11 in preparation for the start of the league’s first season on December 1.er January.

In other matches, Taylor Heise scored two goals and Minnesota defeated Toronto. The final score was 5-5, as Minnesota finished ahead in regulation and Toronto took the shootout.

Preseason games include overtime and a shootout, regardless of the score at the end of the third period.

Grace Zumwinkle, Lee Stecklein and Denisa Krizova also scored for Minnesota.

Rebecca Leslie scored the first two goals of the match, while Victoria Bach and Jocelyne Larocque also scored for Toronto.

Emma Maltais and Jess Jones found the back of the net for Toronto in a shootout. All five Minnesota players failed to score.

Erica Howe stopped 29 shots for Toronto. Lauren Bench and Maddie Rooney shared the net and blocked a total of 43 shots. Rooney got the victory.
