(Segovia) Megan Gustafson had 17 points and nine rebounds as Spain comfortably beat Canada 68-48 on Wednesday in the two countries’ final pre-season game before the Paris Olympics.
Queralt Casas added 20 points for the Spanish women, ranked fourth in the world. They will open the Olympic tournament against second-ranked China on Sunday.
Kayla Alexander led Canada with 10 points. Aaliyah Edwards contributed eight points and 14 rebounds.
Fifth in the world, the Canadians will face the French – seventh – on Monday in Lille.
Canada, which won 77-74 against Australia on Tuesday, shot 34% from the field. Spain shot 46% from the field.
The Canadians were eliminated in the preliminary phase at the Tokyo Games with a 1-2 record three years ago.
