A mother was found dead at her home on Saturday, September 14, in Carvin (Pas-de-Calais), killed with a bladed weapon. Her husband was arrested, AFP learned from the Béthune prosecutor’s office.
The victim, aged 43, was discovered by one of the couple’s daughters, aged around 15, the prosecutor’s office said. The couple’s five children, the three youngest of whom were at the scene, were taken into care.
The husband, 44 years old, who “was waiting for investigators” on the spot, was arrested and taken into custody, the prosecution added. The investigation, opened for voluntary homicide of a spouse, was entrusted to the Pas-de-Calais judicial police, and an autopsy is planned.
