A young girl and a woman have been hospitalised in London after a knife attack in the Leicester Square area, a busy place in the centre of the capital of England, announced the police on Monday, August 12, on X. They also explain that a man was arrested and taken into custody, and don’t think there is “accomplices at large”.

The police did not provide further details on the health of the two victims, aged 11 and 34 respectively. A London Ambulance spokesman said his service was called late in the morning and both victims were taken to a trauma centre.

This knife attack comes at a time of great tension in the United Kingdom. Following the death of three children in a knife attack on July 29 in Southport, in the northwest of England, Racist riots have broken out in several cities across the UK.
