Without forgetting, Lysander | The duty

Noticed in 2020 thanks to a promising EP, Lysandre launches a first album which immediately places her in the new generation of gifted musicians, alongside Lou-Adriane Cassidy and Ariane Roy in particular, who join their voices to hers on several songs. Piano virtuoso trained at the Royal Academy of Music in London, collaborator of Klô Pelgag and the Loodies, actress in her spare time (Augustine’s Passion, Chaos), Lysandre Ménard arrives with a solid musical background. Here, we are not trying to impress, it is accuracy that is targeted. Without forgetting is a dreamy pop album with subtle and nuanced sounds, complex arrangements (trombone quartet, integration of harpsichord, clavinet and theorbo). We float a little above reality, in a world shrouded in mystery where nice witches dance. Lysandre reveals a real talent as a lyricist; she deploys a poetic, rich universe, and pays homage to the women in her life, with a nod to the writers Sylvia Plath and Marie Uguay. A very nice debut.
