The film “A little thing in addition”, by comedian Artus, is an incredible success. In three days, it had nearly 500,000 entries. This comedy features 11 characters with disabilities who are not played by professional actors.

They all have a little something extra: a mental deficiency, a form of autism or Down syndrome. They are the heroes of Artus’ first film. Released this week, it had the best start of the year with 500,000 entries in three days, more thanUntouchables when it was released. It tells the story of two bandits who are unwillingly sent to a summer camp with people with disabilities.

A new look

Artus climbs on a train towards Valence (Drôme), where the film was shot. On board, an actor confides: “I loved filming with him. He’s a sweetheart and he’s caring.” The comedy seems to largely convince the spectators. Artus recalls that disabled people represent “10% of society. Let’s make them exist.” His film addresses the theme of disability with a new eye, humor and a lot of tenderness.
