After the destruction of the Kakhovka dam, evacuations from the banks of the Dnieper continue under the bombs. The journalists of France 2 are the first Western team to be able to go to the side of the river controlled by the Russians.
On the left bank of the Dnieper, controlled by the Russians, the river has invaded everything. The small village of Korsounka is swallowed up by the waters. The damage is extensive with drowned cars, very often the water reaches the windows of the houses.
The left bank more affected by the floods
The neighborhood seems empty, but residents have refused at all costs to be evacuated despite high water levels. In the middle of the drama, a woman has just gone to rescue two of her dogs who had taken refuge on the roof. The left bank of the Dnieper is the least steep. It is therefore more affected by floods. The roads are cut off because of the water. To go from one village to another, it is often necessary to take paths.
